Job summary

Serverfarm LLC in Houston, TX is seeking a reliable Data Center Technician to help maintain critical infrastructure and ensure 100% uptime. You will monitor environmental and power conditions, perform preventive maintenance, and support contractors during installations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of data center experience, strong self-management, and clear written and verbal communication. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive hourly pay.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain MEP plant and distribution infrastructure safely and per manufacturer recommendations.
• Monitor power and environmental conditions in critical spaces and respond to deviations.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance following SF practices and CMMS.
• Aid planning and scheduling of maintenance activities.
• Escort and support outside contractors while ensuring compliance with SF rules.
• Respond to site incidents and document/MOP/EOP actions to mitigate issues.
• Support Change Control processes and site documentation.
• Conduct site rounds and report issues to site management.
• Participate in construction and commissioning activities as directed.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal safety laws and requirements.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.
• Contribute to development of site policies and standards and ensure 100% uptime of critical infrastructure.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure that all MEP plant and distribution infrastructure is operated and maintained in a safe manner, to best industry practice and within manufacturers' recommendations.
• Monitor power and environmental conditions within all critical spaces within the facility.
• Perform maintenance tasks in accordance with SF practices utilizing the internal CMMS.
• Assist with planning and scheduling corrective maintenance activities.
• Escort and support outside contractors, ensuring they are abiding by SF work rules and processes.
• Respond to site incidents, execute appropriate MOP/EOP documentation to resolve and/or mitigate issues and communicate to manage throughout the event.
• Support and follow all SF Change Control policies and procedures.
• Perform site rounds and report any issues found to site management.
• Participate in construction and commissioning activities as directed by site management.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety laws and requirements.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the management team.
• Participate in and support MOP/SOP/EOP documentation process for site.
• Participate in and support the development of site policies and standards.
• Work with site team members to deliver 100% uptime of critical infrastructure.

Required Skills

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent AND preferably 1 year experience working in a Data Center with proven success in delivering customer requirements in a critical technology environment.
• Evidence of self-management and alignment with ever-changing priorities.
• Good written and oral communication skills, tenacity, and working to a high level of accuracy.

$20 - $24 an hour
