Job summary

Varitec Solutions in Tucson, AZ seeks a Controls Technician I to support installation, startup, commissioning, and repair of building automation and HVAC control systems. You will work with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to ensure safe, accurate, and on-schedule execution.

The ideal candidate will develop knowledge of DDC controls, networking, and building controls platforms while delivering high-quality customer service and clear field documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HVAC or equivalent required.
• OSHA safety training required.
• Ability to read and interpret control drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with building automation and HVAC controls preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, startup, checkout, commission, and troubleshoot building automation and HVAC control systems.
• Coordinate with project managers and subcontractors to verify field devices and wiring.
• Document changes and commissioning results for as-built drawings and project records.
• Maintain safety standards and work within project schedules and budgets.
• Provide frontline technical and repair support to customer sites.
