Job summary

Ecosystem is seeking a Construction Manager to lead on-site construction operations from design to commissioning in California. You will ensure constructability, coordinate with subs and clients, and drive timely delivery while maintaining safety standards and quality.

The role emphasizes deep involvement across design, permitting, and execution on active projects, with growth opportunities in a dynamic, integrated engineering and construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Help ensure compliance with health and safety requirements on project sites and contribute to best practices.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, clients, and internal stakeholders to support on-site construction operations.
• Identify permit requirements and ensure timely project delivery with the Project Coordinator and Construction Managers.
• Resolve technical challenges on site with effective problem-solving for cost-efficient delivery.
• Document cost/schedule/resource impacts and escalate risks as needed for changes and scope adjustments.
• Assist in preparing project upgrades, including estimates and documentation for client review.
• Develop understanding of energy performance measures and sustainability considerations prior to implementation.
• Assist day-to-day execution to align with budget, schedule, and quality.

As a Construction Manager, you will be deeply involved throughout all phases of the project: you will have a strong influence during the design stage; ensuring constructability and operational efficiency, before leading its execution on site. Here, you won’t be given a step-by-step playbook. Instead, we define what the building needs to achieve—and you’ll have the flexibility, resources, and the full toolbox to determine how to get there.

What you’ll do

As part of an integrated multidisciplinary team working from design through completion, you will be responsible to:

• Help ensure compliance with health and safety requirements on project sites and contribute to the application of best practices
• Support on-site construction operations by coordinating with subcontractors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and the Construction Managers to identify permit requirements and ensure timely project delivery
• Assist in identifying and resolving technical challenges on site, applying problem-solving skills to support efficient and cost-effective project delivery
• Help track and manage changes and scope adjustments by documenting impacts on costs, schedules, and resources, and escalating risks as needed
• Support the preparation of project upgrades, including estimates and documentation, for review and presentation to the client
• Develop an understanding of energy performance measures and sustainability considerations prior to implementation
• Assist with day-to-day execution of construction activities, helping ensure alignment with budget, schedule, and quality requirements

Your profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• 0-2 years of construction project management and on-site experience
• Interest in complex mechanical construction
• Strong communication (written and verbal), listening, skills in English.
• Team player with a positive attitude, resilience, and determination.
• Quick critical thinking ability under pressure.
• Top-notch organizational skills.
• Field-based role with 4-5 days/week on active project sites

What Ecosystem offers

• Annual base salary ranging from $85,000 - $100,000 , with final compensation determined based on a candidate’s experience, technical expertise, and skillset, as well as geographic location
• 401K matching and comprehensive group insurance package (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long term disability) - including a High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) option with no employee payroll deductions
• Paid time off per year: 10 public holidays, a minimum of 15 days of vacation, and 5 personal days. We have paid time off between December 25 and January 1 when our offices close for the holiday period for a well-earned break
