Job summary

Prescient Edge is seeking a Junior Cloud Developer to support a federal government client. The role focuses on cloud development using languages like Python/JavaScript/Java, with exposure to Docker/Kubernetes and basic cloud networking concepts.

You will work toward building scalable cloud solutions while learning on-the-job and leveraging on-site collaboration. Ideal candidates pursue or recently completed a CS/IT degree with a focus on cloud development and hold or be pursuing entry-level

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in CS/IT with focus on cloud development.
• U.S. citizenship is required to support a federal government client.
• Fundamental cloud platform knowledge and scripting for automation.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases is a plus.

Requirements

Technical Skills:

Cloud Platform Knowledge:

• Basic understanding of major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with cloud services such as compute, storage, networking, and databases.
• AI assisted experience such as assisted development
• Exposure to relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).

Programming Skills

• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in cloud development, such as Python, JavaScript, or Java.
• Solid footing in at least one OOP language (Python, Java, C++, Rust, etc.)
• Knowledge of scripting for automation tasks and testing (unit testing, etc).

DevOps And Networks Basics:

• Understanding of CI/CD pipeline such as infrastructure as a code, containers, serverless, etc
• Familiarity with tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Basic knowledge of cloud networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, firewalls, etc).
• Awareness of cloud security best practices.

Educational Background

• Degree: Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with focus on Cloud development.
• Certifications (Optional but valuable): Entry-level cloud certifications like AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or Google Cloud Digital Leader
