Kent is seeking a Junior Civil/Structural Designer to be based in Deer Park, TX, supporting regional projects. The role involves collaborating with lead engineers on planning and design, producing 2D and 3D drawings, and conducting field visits when needed.

Required are 5+ years in refinery/midstream/petrochemical settings, proficiency in AutoCAD, CADWorx and Navisworks, and strong English communication. This is a full-time on-site position with potential travel per project.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in refinery, midstream, and petrochemical environments.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, CADWorx and Navisworks.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA & PIP standards.

Responsabilités

• Capable of utilizing the 3D model per current procedures.
• Work with the civil/structural lead engineer in planning and design layout.
• Attend project meetings.
• Prepare both 2D and 3D drawings meeting industry, client, and company quality standards.
• Conduct field investigations and plant site visits as needed and assist the lead engineer to produce investigation reports.
• Ensure effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used.
• Contribute to a team environment by achieving related results in a cooperative manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About the job:

Kent is looking for a Junior Civil /Structural Designer to be based in Deer Park, TX and support regional operation projects(s).

This position requires knowledge of civil/structural design. The primary responsibility of this position is to work with the Lead and the Senior designers and engineers on projects. The person in this position must have a positive work ethic, good interpersonal skills, and good problem-solving skills.

• Capable of utilizing the 3D model per current procedures.
• Work with the civil/structural lead engineer in planning and design layout.
• Attend project meetings.
• Capable of preparing both 2D and 3D drawings in an accurate manner that meets the industry, client, and company quality standards.
• Conduct field investigations and plant site visits when needed and assist the lead engineer to produce an investigation report if necessary.
• Ensure that effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used.
• Contribute to a team environment by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Yourknowledge/skills,education,andexperience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

• 5 plus years of experience in refinery, midstream, and petrochemical.
• Worked with the following software: AutoCAD, CADWorx, Navisworks.
• Some knowledge of OSHA & PIP Standards.

Computer Skills:

• Experience in AutoCAD, CADWorx and Navisworks required.
• Ability to generate 3D CAD foundation and steel models required.
• Some knowledge of laser scan, LFM and CloudWorx is preferred.
• MS Office (Excel and Word) required.

Communication:

• Full fluency in English is required.
