Job summary

A leading environmental engineering firm in Alabama seeks a motivated Civil or Environmental Engineer. The role involves developing master plans, design drawings, and stormwater management systems for solid-waste related projects. Candidates must have a BS in a relevant field, pass the FE Exam, and show enthusiasm for engineering and project management. Strong communication skills and a team player attitude are essential. This position may require some travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• 0 to 5 years of experience in solid waste, land development, or closely related projects.
• Passed the FE Exam with intent to obtain a Professional Engineer license.
• Enthusiastic about all aspects of engineering and project management.

Job description

• Projects will include solid-waste related site development projects: developing master plans, design drawings, design of stormwater management and erosion control systems, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
• Preparing various types of related reports and studies to secure permitting for projects.
• Position will require some travel to clients’ facilities to better understand design issues and to monitor construction progress.

Requirements

• Minimum requirements include a BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Passed the FE Exam with intent to obtain Professional Engineer license, and 0 to 5 years of experience, including solid waste, land development, or closely related projects.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D.
• Ideal candidate has the traits of a team player who is enthusiastic about all aspects of engineering and project management and can lead projects from planning and preliminary engineering through design and construction.
• Must have good communication skills, be a team player and be able to relate well to project team, clients, regulators, and contractors.
