Job summary

The Helena, Montana office of Schnabel is seeking an entry level CAD Designer to support our engineering group. We value attention to detail, a passion to develop professionally, and a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment.

You will prepare 2D drawings, build 3D models, and contribute to drafting standards while learning Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and related software on projects spanning dam, civil, and structural design nationwide.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D for drawing sets from base data.
• Experience with Revit and SolidWorks is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of drafting/design experience in a consulting firm or related setting.
• Strong interpersonal communication and ability to work in a team.
• Associates degree or certification in Drafting and Design or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D CAD drawings (plans, profiles, sections) per design guidance.
• Create 3D models for complex features.
• Maintain drawing files and CAD standards per procedures.
• Produce graphics for reports and presentations.
• Maintain office printers and support drafting staff training.
