Job summary

SirenOpt, Inc. in California is seeking a Software Engineer (Early Career) with C++ and systems focus to help build and maintain a real-time data pipeline for our sensing platform, integrating sensor data on Linux with Python tooling.

You will work with senior engineers, develop features, run tests on lab hardware, and contribute end-to-end from design to customer deployment, with growth toward mid-level ownership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in CS/CE/EE; recent graduates welcome.
• 0–2 years of software development experience; internships count.
• Solid C++ foundation: memory management, references, std library, OO.
• Strong Python skills for automation, testing, data analysis.
• Ability to read and modify code in multiple languages.
• Basics of CS: data structures, algorithms, OS, concurrency.
• Familiar with Linux CLI, build tools (CMake), debugger, Git workflows.
• Experience with AI coding tools in production workflows; testing and reviews.
• Hands-on with lab hardware: setting up sensors, data collection.
• Clear written and verbal communication; team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software components in modern C++ for Linux-based systems.
• Implement features, fix bugs, and write tests across the data pipeline.
• Write Python scripts for automation, testing, data analysis.
• Read and modify existing code across languages.
• Use AI coding tools and verify outputs via testing and reviews.
• Run the system on real hardware in the lab.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain code quality.
• Help diagnose issues across software and hardware boundaries.
• Measure and improve performance under guidance.
• Document work for team use.
