Job summary

Beta Technologies is seeking a Junior Buyer/Planner to support New Product Introduction and Contracting, ensuring materials and services are available for development and production. You will manage POs, track material availability, and work with suppliers and internal teams in a fast-moving manufacturing setting.

The role emphasizes organization, curiosity, and strong communication as you learn procurement fundamentals and help resolve supply issues in Vermont.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and inventory management.
• Understanding of basic procurement practices and ERP concepts.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and independently.
• Exposure to fast-moving manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare purchase orders or bid requests and enter data for POs.
• Track, maintain, and update purchase orders as timing, cost, or scope changes.
• Confer with vendors for price, availability, and delivery schedules.
• Review requisitions and bid proposals; negotiate contracts within budget.
• Interface with all departments and resolve problems and issues.
• Track material shortages and coordinate alternatives when supply is tight.

We are seeking a Junior Buyer/Planner to join our New Product Introduction and Contracting team. In this role, you will help ensure materials and services are available to support new product development and production. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to place and manage purchase orders, track material availability, resolve supply issues, and keep stakeholders informed. This role is a strong fit for someone who is organized, curious, communicative, and eager to learn procurement and supply-chain fundamentals in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

• Preparing purchase orders or bid requests; entering data for purchase orders
• Tracking, maintaining, and updating purchase orders based on changes to timing, cost, financials, or other updates.
• Conferring with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
• Reviewing requisitions and bid proposals; negotiating contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority; purchasing supplies
• Interfacing with all departments, and resolving problems and issues
• Tracking material shortages for work-orders, kits, and sub-assemblies based on bill-of-material or drawings, facilitate alternate solutions where material supply doesn't support

Minimum Qualifications:

• Comfortable with frequent change of direction, dynamic work environment, and passion to perform under pressure
• 1 year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience managing Supplier relationships, inventory management, and understanding of basic principles of procurement practices
• Microsoft suite experience- outlook, teams, word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Strong background in problem-solving and leadership
• Demonstrated understanding of an ERP system. Experience with Epicor, SAP, Plex, or Oracle will prepare for success.
• Strong ability to perform both as a part of a team and to perform as an individual

Above and Beyond Qualifications:

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, operations, engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
• Plex ERP Experience
• Internship, co-op, project, coursework, or other hands-on experience related to procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, or operations.
• Exposure to rapid manufacturing growth and preferably startup experience

Compensation

$75,000 - $85,000 USD
