Job summary

SimVentions, Inc is seeking a junior to mid-level software-focused Systems Engineer to perform software systems engineering for the acquisition, development and sustainment of various aviation programs. This full-time on-site role is based at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD, with future funding and a start not before September 1, 2026.

Applicants must have at least two years of software or systems engineering experience and knowledge of avionics; active security clearance is required and US

Qualifications

• At least two years experience performing software or systems engineering activities.
• Knowledge of avionics systems.
• Experience with DOD-STD and MIL-STD-498/IEEE 12207 is preferred.
• Experience with MBSE and systems/software integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements
• Review and evaluate vendor software specifications
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration
• Conduct analysis of software defects
• Coordinate with cybersecurity subject Matter experts
• Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, etc.)
• Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process
• Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes
• Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
• Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
• Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals
