Job summary

Auditor Of State in Ohio is seeking an Assistant Auditor 1 to join our public finance team in Athens. This role focuses on external financial audits of cities, counties, schools, and other entities, ensuring taxpayer dollars are used properly and in compliance with the law.

A bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant experience is preferred, with training in auditing techniques and state fiscal practices.

Qualifications

• Accounting education or experience is preferred.
• Know-how of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is preferred.
• Travel to audit site locations and perform fieldwork as part of audits.

Responsibilities

• Develop working knowledge of auditing techniques and State fiscal practices.
• Serve as a contributing member of an audit team and handle increasing responsibility.
• Travel to audit sites, examine records, and prepare workpapers with findings.
• Gather, interpret, and analyze data for audits; draft preliminary findings.
