Placements24 is seeking a Junior Associate to join a growing Queenstown litigation team. You will assist senior lawyers with case preparation, research, drafting legal documents, and potentially represent clients in lower courts.

This role is designed for a newly admitted or junior attorney eager to develop their skills in a supportive environment with strong mentorship. Remote work options are available for select tasks to balance work-life demands while gaining exposure to diverse litigation

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Strong academic background with excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow instructions meticulously.
• Good organizational skills and a proactive approach to learning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on statutes, case law, and other legal authorities.
• Draft pleadings, affidavits, notices, and other legal documents under supervision.
• Assist senior litigators with discovery and case preparation.
• Prepare case files for court appearances and client meetings.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials as directed.
• Attend court proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations to gain practical experience.
