MICHAEL K. CHEN ARCHITECTURE (MKCA) in New York City seeks talented junior architects and designers to join our studio.

The junior staff work with project managers and the firm principal to develop projects from concept to realization, generating design studies and production documents, sourcing furnishings and decorative elements, and developing the representation of projects for presentation. They engage the entire range of the office’s creative workflow through sketching, digital modeling,

Qualifications

• A professional degree in Architecture. M.Arch, preferred.
• Strong digital design skills. Fluency with Rhino and Revit are a must.
• Strong drawing and graphic skills including in AutoCAD and the Adobe Suite.
• A demonstrated commitment to craft and making, whether through analog or digital means, including CNC milling, Robotics, 3D printing, or others.
• 1-2years of professional architecture experience.

Responsibilities

• The junior staff work with project managers and the firm principal to develop projects from concept to realization, generating design studies and production documents.
• Sourcing furnishings and decorative elements, and developing project representations for presentation.
• Engage the entire range of the office’s creative workflow through sketching, digital modeling, rendering, drafting, BIM, physical model making, and prototyping.
• Collaborate with the team to contribute meaningfully to the office’s work and professional advancement.
• Participate in Design Advocates projects and initiatives.
