Job summary

Edgewater Federal Solutions seeks a Junior Application Engineer to support a major national laboratory. The role focuses on custom programming, configuration, report development, dev-ops, scripting, and testing.

The candidate will assist in enhancing software architecture, provide client support, analyze requirements, and help manage development and support processes. Onsite work in Albuquerque, US citizenship and DOE Q clearance required.

Qualifications

• AS/AA in relevant discipline plus minimum 2 years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance
• US Citizenship is Required
• Candidate must reside in the Albuquerque area as work is performed onsite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in enhancing software functionality and architecture for multiple technologies.
• Provide technical support to clients, test applications, maintain hardware, and respond to requests.
• Analyze system requirements, design software tools, and manage development and support processes.
• Manage software development and support using formal specifications and CASE tools.
• Estimate software development costs and schedules.
• Review existing programs and refine to reduce run time and improve techniques.
• Gather functional requirements, document processes, and begin application development.

Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Junior Application Engineer to support a major national laboratoy.

The successful candidate shall be proficient in the following areas: custom computer programming, commercial-off-the-shelf application configuration and customization, report development, dev-ops, scripting, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in enhancing the overall functionality of software by improving software architecture, supporting existing software, and engineering hardware components that optimize various technologies.
• This role involves providing technical support to clients, testing applications, maintaining hardware, and responding to customer requests.
• The Application Engineer will also analyze complex system requirements, design software tools and subsystems, and manage software development and support processes.
• Manage software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
• Estimate software development costs and schedule.
• Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques.
• Candidate will gather functional requirements, document processes, could start learning some application development.
