Job summary

CrossCountry Mortgage, LLC seeks a Jumbo Underwriter for remote US work. You will validate income, assets and collateral, including self-employed returns, and ensure compliance with investor and program guidelines.

The role requires reviewing tax returns, financials, credit and title documents, managing pipeline, and coordinating with loan originators and post-closers. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree, 3+ years in jumbo product underwriting, and familiarity with Encompass LOS and ATR/QM

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• 3+ years’ Jumbo product experience and non-Agency experience.
• Certifications such as DE/SAR/LAPP preferred.

We also offer company-provided short-term disability, an employee assistance program, and a wellness program.**Position Overview:** The Jumbo Underwriter is responsible for validating income, asset and collateral documents including self-employed tax returns. **Job Responsibilities:*** Evaluate loan applications for risks and various criteria such as investor requirements, accuracy, consistency and completeness.* Calculate qualifying income including analyzing tax returns and financial statements.* Review and analyze borrower profiles, credit reports, title reports, income documentation and assets, including complex business returns and financials.* Review new loan files to ensure loan meets investor and program criteria. Must meet minimum Production Requirements.* Review all eligible investors.* Manage individual pipeline daily by completing new underwriting reviews, condition reviews and other underwriting tasks within established turn times.* Communicate and engage proactively with loan originators, processors, branch managers, funders and post-closers in regard to loan decisions, assignment of loan conditions, investor guidelines/documentation requirements and possible loan scenarios.* Access third party services (valuation, fraud, compliance) to provide valuable input for loan decisions.* Perform other related duties as assigned.**Qualifications and Skills:*** Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.* DE, SAR or LAPP certifications, highly preferred.* 3+ years’ Jumbo products experience.* Minimum of 3 years’ Non-Agency experience.* Experience with reviewing residential appraisals.* Experience with compliance and disclosure requirements.* Encompass LOS experience, a plus.* Knowledge of closing, post-closing & quality control responsibilities.* Working knowledge of ATR/QM requirements.* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.* Excellent communication skills.This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the job and the general nature and level of work performed by job holders within this job.
