Job summary

Product Connections in Durham, NC is seeking an events associate responsible for preparing juice and other specialty products for purchase. You will set up the area for demonstrations, read materials to understand program scope, and follow safety rules when using equipment and handling heavy merchandise.

Duties include conducting samples, supporting event setup and teardown, completing required reporting, attending trainings, and keeping a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• Experience in Product Marketing or product demonstrations preferred.
• Ability to safely and effectively prepare juice or other specialty products for purchase.
• Ability to conduct demonstrations and sampling events as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare the area for specialized food products.
• Read materials to understand program scope, instructions, production requirements and program compliance.
• Follow safety rules when using equipment and lifting heavy merchandise.
• Adhere to tasks and procedures related to safe food handling, preparation, packaging and labeling.
• Complete reporting requirements, including online entries.
• Regularly check the product events schedule and emails for updates and supervisor requests.
• Complete certifications and attend special training sessions as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area using proper cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Assist teammates with event setup or cleanup and kitchen duties when needed.
• Conduct food sampling and demonstrations in support of business needs.

Responsibilities

• Properly set up and prepare thearea for specialized food products.
• Fully read materials thataccompany product demonstrations to understand program scope, instructions,production requirements and program compliance.
• Follow all safety requirementswhen using equipment (e.g. hot machinery or sharp blades). Practice properlifting techniques when working with boxes or heavy merchandise.
• Adhere to all required tasks andprocedures related to safe food handling, preparation, production, packaging,labeling, merchandising and disposal.
• Accurately complete all reportingrequirements (including on-line requirements) as required.
• Regularly check the product eventschedule and email for upcoming activities, corporate news updates, eventchanges and instructions, and supervisor requests.
• Complete certifications and attendspecial training sessions as required.
• Follow safety and complianceguidelines for appropriate machine operation, cleaning and maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, sterile and safework area using proper cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Assist other teammates with eventset-up or clean-up and/or with kitchen duties when needed.
• Conduct food sampling anddemonstrations in support of the needs of business. Follow general set-up andteardown guidelines.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Previous experience in ProductMarketing, Product Demonstrations or in the food, beverage or restaurantindustry preferred. Specific Skills:

• Abilityto safely and effectively prepare juice or other specialty products forpurchase.
• Abilityto conduct demonstrations and sampling events of other products as needed.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Applicablestate and local food safety certification or license. Physical Demands: Whileperforming the duties of this position, the team member is regularly requiredto be able to:

• Ability to continuously lift aminimum of 50 lbs. several times per day.
• Ability to push a wheeled machine(with weight ranges 50-600 lbs.) to/from the sales floor.
• Preparation of foods usingproduce, machinery and sharp utensils.
• Standing for extended periods oftime each day.
• Work varied hours throughout theday as required.
• Climbing with use of a 6' StepStool (when necessary).
• Visual ability to readinstructions to ensure safety and food safety compliance.
• Ability to work in environmentswith exposure to cold, refrigerated conditions and hot equipment.
• Sit, stand, talk, hear and usehands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and/or otherperipherals.
• Listen to and understandinformation and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
• Read and understand informationand ideas presented in writing.
• Communicate information and ideasorally and in writing so others will understand.
• Identify and understand the speechof another person and interact with customers.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Work Environment: Retail store environment withregular interaction with co-workers, management team members and customers.Moderate to high noise levels associated with a retail warehouse environment.Exposure to cold, refrigerated conditions, food products and cleaning chemicals.

Language Skills: English is the primary language skill;however, bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity.
