Job summary

The Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Tampa, Florida is seeking a Trial Court Staff Attorney to assist state court judges with legal research, drafting proposed orders, and other related assignments. This position is primarily in the Criminal Division, handling pretrial and post-conviction matters.

Ideal candidates have an ABA-accredited law degree or are in the final semester, must become Florida Bar members within a year if not already, and possess excellent research, writing and communication

Qualifications

Graduation from an ABA-accredited law school or enrollment in the final semester or quarter of law school is a requirement for applying.
If the successful applicant is not a member of The Florida Bar at the time of hire, they must become a Florida Bar member within one year of the hire date.
Applicants must possess excellent research, writing, proofreading and communication skills; strong organizational and time management skills; and discretion and confidentiality in handling matters before the court.

Responsibilities

Assist state court circuit and county judges with legal research, drafting of proposed orders and other related assignments.
Join a team of experienced staff attorneys in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, focusing on Criminal Division matters (pretrial and post-conviction).
