Job summary

Division of Administrative Hearings in Tampa, FL is seeking a Judicial Clerk I to support a Judge of Compensation Claims with administrative, secretarial, and clerical duties. You will work under supervision and interact with judges, attorneys, and the public in a sensitive setting.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or the equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and demonstrated teamwork.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and calendar live, telephone, and zoom hearings and other JCC events.
• Review legal pleadings.
• Generate orders for JCC review.
• Generate notices of legal proceedings.
• Communicate with parties regarding scheduling, deficiencies in pleadings, and information requested by the JCC.
• Review exhibits to provide to the District Court of Appeal.
• Maintain a system to track and monitor deadlines.
• Generate reports regarding case and hearing information.
• Proofread evidentiary orders drafted by the JCC and suggest possible style or grammatical corrections.
