Candidates should have a Georgia J.D., active bar, 5+ years in collections or post-judgment litigation, and strong research, negotiation, and motion drafting skills.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school; active Georgia Bar license in good standing.
  • 5+ years of experience in collections, creditor’s rights, or post-judgment litigation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Georgia enforcement statutes and procedures.
  • Comfortable working with financial records, garnishments, and UCCs.
  • Excellent research, negotiation, and motion drafting skills.
  • Persistent, resourceful, and results-driven personality.
  • Trial or evidentiary hearing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and assess enforceability of civil judgments, including dormant or foreign judgments.
  • Pursue collection actions including garnishments, levies, liens, asset seizures, and receiverships.
  • Conduct asset investigations, locate debtors, and uncover hidden or transferred assets.
  • File and argue post-judgment motions and actions in court.
  • Navigate state and federal debtor-creditor laws, including FDCPA, FCRA, and bankruptcy implications.
  • Work with private investigators, skip tracers, and financial forensic experts.
  • Negotiate payment plans, settlements, or consent judgments when in clients’ best interest.
  • Maintain detailed records of enforcement actions, court deadlines, and results.
  • Regularly update clients on collections progress and provide strategic enforcement recommendations.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a focused and assertive Judgment Collections Attorney to lead the enforcement of civil judgments through both standard and aggressive means. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives on chasing down bad debt, uncovering hidden assets, and ensuring creditors are made whole. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, deeply knowledgeable in post-judgment remedies, and unafraid to push the boundaries of enforcement when the facts and law allow.
