Job summary

CACI is seeking a JTAC Instructor/Operator to operate Fire Support/Terminal Attack Control simulators and provide CAS familiarization. You will plan, develop, schedule, and synchronize all aspects of the JTAC Trainer, creating realistic scenarios that align with unit objectives and integrating Live, Virtual, Constructive, Gaming (LVCG) and STE systems.

Travel up to 25% and work at customer facilities in CONUS.

Qualifications

  • Secret security clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.
  • Certified JTAC Instructor/Evaluator (JTAC-I/E).
  • Operational JTAC experience with SOF.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and employing lethal and nonlethal
  • Experience with JTAC simulators, simulation software and training aids.
  • Proficient with military air-ground communications systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Terminal Attack Control academic instruction per USSOCOM 350-5 and JTAC MOA.
  • Provide academic and practical instruction for all Fire Support elements.
  • Operate JTAC/Fire Support simulators and instruct USSOCOM JTACs and CAS trainees.
  • Plan, develop, schedule, and synchronize the JTAC Trainer with realistic scenarios.
  • Attend simulator/conference events to stay current with software/hardware.
  • Research new tactics and procedures to enhance unit training.
  • Maintain qualification and currency as required by the JTAC MOA.

The Opportunity:

  • As a JTAC Instructor/Operator, you operate Fire Support/Terminal Attack Control simulators and provide instruction for Close Air Support (CAS) familiarization when needed.
  • Additionally, JTAC Instructor/Operators will plan, develop, schedule, and synchronize all aspects of the JTAC Trainer/simulator, as well as develop realistic.
  • With challenging simulator training scenarios in accordance with the supported commands operational outcomes and objectives.
  • JTAC Instructor/Operators will advise and assist in the development training and mission rehearsal tasks with the intent to provide a common framework for integration of Live, Virtual, Constructive, Gaming (LVCG) and Synthetic Training Environment (STE) systems/platforms, and simulation/emulation of JTAC and Forward Observer devices in use and/or advancements or life cycle replacement of JTAC and Forward Observer targeting/target acquisition devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Terminal Attack Control academic instruction in accordance with USSOCOM 350-5 and as aligned with the JTAC MOA.
  • Provide academic and practical instruction for all aspects of Fire Support including TAC, Naval Gunfire, Call for Fire, AC-130, and Attack Aviation.
  • Operate Fire Support/Terminal Attack Control simulators and provide instruction for USSOCOM JTACs, trainees and Close Air Support (CAS) familiarization.
  • Plan, develop, schedule, and synchronize all aspects of the JTAC Trainer, as well as develop realistic and challenging simulator training scenarios in accordance with the unit’s Designed Operational Capabilities Statement.
  • Attend simulator and operational conferences in order to stay abreast of current software/hardware applications.
  • Research new operational tactics, techniques and procedures that can be implemented into unit training.
  • Maintain qualification and currency as required in accordance with provisions set forth in the JTAC MOA.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and other standard office automation tools.
  • Thorough understanding of principles, concepts, practices, and standards for JTAC training simulators.
  • Work at customer facilities, which require the ability to operate in both conventional and austere locations.
  • Travel to support the needs of the operating command being supported as required by the operating command local requirements.
  • Perform instruction, training, and education in field environments and under seasonal and adverse weather conditions.
  • Perform instruction, training, and education in field environments requiring movement/transportation via watercraft, aircraft, and/or ground vehicular means.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Secret Security Clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.
  • Certified as Joint Terminal Attack Controller Instructor or Evaluator (JTAC-I/E) while serving as a member of United States Armed Forces.
  • Operational JTAC experience with Special Operations Forces (SOF).
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and employing lethal and nonlethal
  • Experience with JTAC simulators, simulation software and training aids.
  • Proficient with Military air-ground communications systems.

Desired:

  • Bachler’s degree
  • Training and experience with Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE).
  • Training and experience with Joint Terminal Control Training Rehearsal System (JTC TRS).
  • Training and experience with HAVIK Joint Fires Trainer.
  • Training and experience with Joint Fires Battlespace Simulations.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$66,400 - $139,600
