Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is seeking a Jr. Youth Development Professional to support a school-age childcare program for ages 6–12, under the IPT and Club Director. For over 90 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware has impacted thousands of lives across Delaware. We are the largest licensed provider of childcare in Delaware and the only statewide Boys & Girls Club in the nation.
Each and everyday girls and boys are left to find their own recreation and companionship. An increasing number of kids are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need toknow they have a place in their community where they can go. Clubs provide a safe haven for youth, allow them to meet with friends and be a part of positive peer groups. Club programs teach life skills, conflict resolution and focus on the development of character. Clubs also provide members with positive role models and a nurturing environment that help improve decision-making skills.
Under the supervision of the IPT (Impact Programs Team) and assigned Club Director, the Jr. Youth Development Professional is responsible for assisting with the effective operation of a quality school-age childcare program that complies with current Delacare rules for school-age centers.
Environmental and working conditions vary from indoors to outdoors; various meeting locations in and out of the Club; occasional statewide travel (e.g. training). Employees are subject to transfer from one department to another and from one club/school site to another as the needs of the organization change.
School Year: Monday to Friday, 3:00PM to 6:00PM, may be required to work full day shifts on school closing days
Summer hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00AM to 6:00PM. Typically scheduled to work 7 to 8 hour shifts each day with some flexibility.
