Job summary
GDIT is seeking a Software Developer in Washington, DC to deliver simple solutions to complex problems for a prestigious federal client. You will design, develop, test, and debug software, shaping user experiences and ensuring reliability in a fast-paced government environment.
As part of a collaborative team, you will work on end-to-end software products, write documentation, and stay current with emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of software development experience including design, coding, testing, and documentation.
- Must have CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8570) and Top Secret/SCI eligibility.
- Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills.

- Designing, developing, coding, testing, and debugging complex new software products, and making significant enhancements to existing software.
- Integrating design strategies, product specifications, development schedules, and user expectations into product capabilities.
- Resolving complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.
- Researching emerging technologies to determine impact on application execution.
- Providing input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
- Troubleshooting complex problems and providing customer support for process specific hardware and application issues.
- Preparing reports on analyses, findings, and project progress.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
- Required Experience: 3 years' experience with at least 2 years' experience in software development including the design, coding, testing, and documentation of software products or applications. Also requires knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures used in software development.
3+ years of related software development experience - Required Technical Skills: CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8570 Compliance)
- Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility
- Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills
- Preferred Skills: Development experience with .Net, C#, SQL, JS, and HTML

The likely salary range for this position is $81,349 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
