JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivatedJunior Manufacturing Engineerto support the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment. This role provides hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced production environment while contributing to quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assistin the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes, methods, tooling, equipment, and controls under the guidance of senior engineers
- Supportanalysis and planning of labor utilization, equipment requirements, workflow, and manufacturing layouts to improve efficiency
- Participatein prototype development, builds, and production launch activities
- Learn and applynew manufacturing technologies that contribute to cost reduction, quality improvement, and operational efficiency
- Attendproduct design reviews to provide input on manufacturability and cost effectiveness
- Assistin preparing manufacturing studies related to cost, quality, inventory levels, and process capability
- Supportimplementation of process improvements involving materials, labor, tooling, equipment, and layouts
- Collaboratewith senior engineers in selecting and developing tooling and equipment to meet manufacturing requirements
- Participatein training coordination for new processes to ensure production readiness
- Contributeto the establishment and verification of poka‑yoke (error‑proofing) systems
- Providetechnical support for problem‑solving teams and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assistin new program launches as part of cross‑functional teams
- Work closelywith production teams to support key performance measures and line balancing
- Maintaineffective communication with stakeholders and provide status updates as needed
- Communicate effectivelyacross all levels of the organization, including production operators, supervisors, engineering teams, and management
- Completeall required training as mandated by the company and customers
- Performother duties and special projects as assigned
Quality, Safety & Compliance Responsibilities
- Supportcompliance with ISO and IATF 16949 standards
- Assistin developing and maintaining PFMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, and Operator Instruction Sheets
- Collaboratewith Ergonomics and Health & Safety teams to ensure safe workstation and line design
- Adhereto all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards
- Reportoccupational injuries, illnesses, accidents, and unsafe conditions promptly
- Participatein continuous improvement initiatives for safety, ergonomics, and environmental performance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degreein Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 0‑2 yearsof experience in Manufacturing Engineering or a related manufacturing role (internship or co‑op experience acceptable; automotive experience preferred)
- Basic understandingof product design and assembly processes
- Familiaritywith PFMEA principles, Control Plans, Process Flows, and manufacturing documentation
- Willingness to learnand apply hands‑on manufacturing processes, methods, tooling, and equipment implementation
- Proficiencywith Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skillswith the ability to effectively interact with cross‑functional teams, production personnel, and management
- Strongorganizational, analytical, and time‑management skills
- Abilityto work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams
- Eagernessto develop technical skills and grow within the manufacturing engineering discipline
- Willingness for future relocationto other facilities as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or co‑op experiencein automotive manufacturing
- Understanding of assembly processesincluding sequencing, line balancing, and production flow optimization
- Exposureto lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Basic CAD knowledge(SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Experience presentingtechnical information to diverse audiences
Work Schedule
1st shift(6:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Must be ableto flex time, work overtime, and support off‑shift activities as needed for major process changes or launches
