Job summary

The Learning Experience in Avon, CT is seeking a Toddler Teacher to create a warm, supportive classroom where children can explore, learn, and develop new skills. The ideal candidate is patient, enthusiastic, and dedicated to fostering growth.

You will create engaging lesson plans, maintain a safe and stimulating environment, and support language and social development. Daily family communication and licensing compliance are key parts of the role, with collaboration across the teaching team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CDA, Associate's Degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous experience working with toddlers or young children preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, and actively engage with young children throughout the day.
• Must meet state licensing requirements and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Support children's development through play-based learning and structured activities.
• Encourage language development, social interaction, and independence.
• Maintain daily communication with families regarding their child's progress and experiences.
• Observe and document developmental milestones.
• Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations, health standards, and company policies.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and center leadership to provide exceptional care and education.
