Job summary

National Grid is seeking Rated Lineworkers (1/C) for anticipated openings at MA South locations: South Shore (Brockton, Quincy, Hanover) and Southeast (Hopedale, Marlborough, Attleboro, Uxbridge, Somerset). This role launches a career in the Electrical Overhead Operations team as a first-class Lineworker.

You will build and maintain distribution/transmission systems, work at heights, operate equipment, and complete documentation and reports, with training and progression offered through our

Qualifications

• Must hold Lineworker 1/c or 2/c cert.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be on National Grid Switching and Tagging list.
• Familiar with Construction, Operating, and Maintenance Standards and Safety Standards and Procedures.
• Proficient with electronic devices; maintain payroll, materials, and equipment records.
• Ability to operate vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Must have a valid driver''s license (no transmission/type restrictions).
• Must maintain DOT health certificate and System Hoisting certificate.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and repair electrical distribution and transmission systems.
• Work at heights; climb poles; lift heavy equipment.
• Operate aerial and excavation equipment; troubleshoot system issues; complete reports.
