Job summary

Puget Sound Energy is seeking a skilled Wireman to inspect, operate, maintain, and construct substation equipment and transmission, distribution, and generation systems to support safe and reliable electric service.

The role involves working on energized and de-energized systems, leading others, and being available for emergencies, with potential overtime and compliance with DOT and safety standards. A journeyman wireman and a valid CDL are required.

Qualifications

• Requires completed wireman apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Fundamentals of electricity relevant to utility systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Compliance with company, state and federal safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate, maintain and construct substations and related equipment.
• Direct the activities of others and operate all substation equipment.
• Perform time reporting and other required reports.
• Respond to emergencies, callouts, and irregular schedules to support 24-hour operations.
