Job summary

Re:Build Manufacturing is seeking a Journey-Level Welder to join our on-site fabrication team in Rochester, NY. You will weld structural components, pipes, and fabrication assemblies using MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SMAW, following blueprints and weld symbols.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of welding experience or completion of an approved apprenticeship, proficiency in multiple processes, and a strong commitment to safety and craftsmanship in a high-mix, high-skill shop environment.

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship or welding program, or a minimum of 10–15 years of hands-on welding experience at journey level.
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SMAW; able to weld in all positions including vertical and overhead.
• 6G pipe welder certification is a strong plus.
• Strong blueprint reading skills and ability to interpret weld symbols and fabrication drawings.
• Experience with stainless steel, pressure pipe, or specialty materials advantageous.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred but not required.
• Must be physically able to lift heavy objects, work from heights, and operate in a shop fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural, pipe, and fabrication welding using MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SMAW on custom machines and assemblies.
• Follow engineer blueprints, weld symbols, fabrication drawings, and job specs to deliver precise results.
• Set up and operate welding machines, fixtures, and fabrication tools.
• Conduct visual weld inspections and identify defects before work leaves the shop.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per OSHA, 5S, and safety procedures.
• Work as part of a cohesive team, mentoring less experienced members.
