Responsibilities

We are seeking motivated individuals and detail-oriented Journeyman Software Developers to join our dynamic team in the National Capital Region. As a Journeyman Software Developer, you will assist in the design, development, and maintenance of software solutions for various government and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in programming, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to collaborate in a team-driven environment.

In this role, you will create, optimize, and manage software baselines to ensure system integrity, performance, and scalability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, database administrators, and DevSecOps professionals, to develop robust and reliable solutions.

• Design technical solutions to support a rapid, software development process in projects related to supply chain analysis, production line modeling, and process improvements.
• Create baseline software and/or database products.
• Collaborate with senior developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions.
• Modify and enhance existing software and/or database products.
• Write and perform unit tests and peer reviews of technical products.
• Troubleshoot, correct, and test code defects.
• Participate in Scrum meetings and Agile software development processes.
• Follow established government standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FISMA, NIST, CMMI, etc.) in software development and security practices.
• Work within the team's development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to deadlines and project milestones.
• Assist with maintaining and improving software deployment pipelines.
• Model the ITA core values of Quality, Integrity, and Respect.

Qualifications

• Technical Bachelor's Degree (e.g., Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field) from an accredited 4 year institution.
• 3-10 years of relevant experience as a software developer.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript).
• Basic understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.).
• Strong communicator both orally and written.
• Fully functional with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI).
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security clearance.
