Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Journeyman Program Analyst located at Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO), Space Systems Command (SSC), United States Space Force (USSF), Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, CA. The role supports the PPBE cycle, translating capability requirements into budget requests and tracking obligations for space-related programs.

The position spans mid-to-senior levels, requiring strong DoD budgeting experience, stakeholder coordination, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a highly analytical field
  • 4+ years of combined industry, federal government experience, or SETA supporting federal government contracts & acquisition with a focus on Program Management or DoD financial management, budget formulation, programming or budget execution
  • Ability to interpret and effectively apply acquisition regulations, law, policy, and guidance with demonstrated results
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Proficiency in MS Tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance w/SCI eligibility

Responsibilities

  • General program management support: Provide general program management support to the SSIO program team to include the planning, management, and execution of funds to fix enterprise risks, issues, and/or gaps
  • Program Objective Memorandum (POM) Support. Assist in translating SSIO capability requirements into actionable, defensible strategic plans during the programming phase.
  • Strategic Analysis & Strategy. Analyze programmatic data and capability trends to support long-term strategic planning and advise leadership on resource allocation impacts.
  • Strategic Leadership Support. Draft and coordinate programmatic briefings (e.g. progress reviews, staffer briefings), issue papers and strategic justification documents (e.g., R-Docs, P-Docs)
  • UFR Management. Coordinate with stakeholders to identify programmatic shortfalls, develop Unfunded Requirements (UFRs), and propose viable mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Integration. Act as a strategic liaison between the Strategic Cell and external stakeholders, ensuring strategic initiatives are aligned with overarching USSF priorities.

Overview Journeyman Program Analyst LOCATION: El Segundo, CA JOB STATUS: Full-time SALARY: $150,000 to $170,000 CLEARANCE: TS w/SCI eligibility CERTIFICATION: N/A TRAVEL: As Needed Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Journeyman Program Analyst located at Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO), Space Systems Command (SSC), United States Space Force (USSF), Los Angeles AFB in El Segundo, CA. serves as a critical financial strategist and advisor, assisting customer with the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) cycle for high-priority needs. In this role, you will ensure that the financial resources of the SSIO are strategically planned and efficiently executed to secure United States space superiority. This position spans mid-to-senior levels, requiring a professional who can transition seamlessly from high-level strategic programming (translating capability requirements into budget requests) to tactical execution (tracking obligations and expenditures for advanced satellite, launch, ground, and cyber systems). Astrion has worked extensively with the USSF SSC where it has earned a reputation for on-time delivery of high-quality products tailored to the needs of its clients such as SSIO.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Experience in project management tools such as Jira/Confluence
  • Experience in DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) Process
  • Experience in data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI) to manipulate financial datasets
  • Ability to establish strong communication with customers and build solid relationships
  • Proficiency with Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence)
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn new services and programs
