Qualifications

• Willingness to be licensed in backflow prevention and fire hydrant testing.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and university-insurable.
• Ability to read blueprints and prepare rough sketches.
• Experience with jackhammers, sewer auger, and pipe threading machines.
• Knowledge of gas/electric welding preferred.
• Background check successful.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
• Operate and maintain pumps and water distribution systems.
• Maintain potable water systems, sewer lift stations, and hydrants.
• Test completed work and make necessary adjustments.
• Inspect systems periodically for safe operation.
• Develop cost estimates for repair and installation jobs.
• Create reports detailing time and materials for repairs.
• Maintain system operation records.
• May supervise others on major installations.
