You will read blueprints and diagrams, coordinate work with staff, and ensure compliance with codes and regulatory requirements while documenting activities and training teammates as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years of plumbing experience in commercial or healthcare-related maintenance.
• Journeyman Plumbing license required.
• Familiarity with state plumbing codes for hospitals and commercial occupancies.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to use computerized work order systems and maintain records.
• May be required to provide basic general-purpose maintenance tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, inspect, and install plumbing, piping, gas, drainage, and mechanical systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and operation manuals.
• Coordinate, monitor, and inspect work to ensure codes and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare worksites, plan installations, obtain permits, and perform testing and inspections.
• Provide training and technical updates to department staff and support personnel.
• Travel to Carilion facilities as needed to support operations.
