Job summary

U.S. Engineering is seeking experienced pipefitters and journeymen to join our mechanical service team for long-term careers in the Kansas City area.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, installing piping systems, and maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, and related equipment in commercial, industrial, and high-security environments. Candidates should demonstrate a solid work history, hands-on skills, and the ability to work in mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Experienced pipefitters and journeymen with strong field skills and a solid work history.
• Experience supporting mechanical service, facilities maintenance, and operations in commercial, industrial, critical infrastructure, or high-security environments.
• Technical knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, hydronic systems, piping systems, TAB, building controls, pumps, compressors, and related mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, isometrics, and mechanical schematics to guide installation, service, and maintenance work.
• Select, assemble, install, service, and maintain piping systems and related materials per specifications.
• Cut and connect pipe using hand tools, power tools, and methods such as welding, soldering, brazing, and threading.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, controls, and related mechanical systems.
• Support HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, hydronic, and mechanical system maintenance in operational facilities.
• Assist with testing, adjusting, and balancing activities, controls coordination, system verification, and functional performance checks as needed.
• Test piping systems for leaks by pressurizing lines and monitoring gauges.
• Perform work in sensitive, mission-critical, and high-security environments while following site-specific safety, security, and operational requirements.
• Support preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities to help maintain reliable facility operations.
