Job summary

MIELKE Mechanical, Inc. is seeking Journeyman Pipefitters for our Columbus, Ohio construction team.

This full-time role offers a $2,500 new hire sign-on bonus for qualified Columbus journeymen, comprehensive benefits, ESOP participation, and advancement opportunities. Responsibilities

• Assist with layout, fabrication, assembly and installation of piping.
• Work with carbon and stainless steel piping in industrial systems.
• Perform calculations for angles, offsets and fittings.
• Inspect and test installed systems and pipelines using gauges and hydrostatic testing.
• Follow blueprints to construct and install piping and related systems.
• Support fabrication/inventory with inspection and maintenance of materials and equipment.
• Mentor and coach craft workers and participate in ongoing training.

The right candidate will have:

• Ability to travel to job sites throughout the Columbus, Ohio area and spend multiple weeks onsite as required to complete projects
• Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and a working knowledge of
• project scheduling software
• Skills to communicate clearly verbally, in handwriting, and electronically
• Demonstrated strong knowledge of industrial/commercial mechanical construction manner of working and exceptional jobsite management skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills; Able to effectively allocate and develop resources

Our Journeyman Pipefitter will:

• Assist with layout, fabrication, assembly and installation of both, carbon and stainless steel
• piping as related to industrial processing systems
• Perform mathematical calculations pertaining to the manipulation of angles such as
• rolling offsets, cutback of fittings, and takeout between welds and other fits
• Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines, using pressure gauge,
• hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods
• Have basic understanding of rigging to safely move piping in and around project area
• Prep material for welding by utilizing application appropriate cutting implements
• Pipefitters must be able to follow blue prints (iso) to construct and install related
• piping and operation systems
• As required, assist fabrication/inventory warehouse with inspection of material and
• equipment received and maintenance of stored equipment
• Ability to motivate, coach, evaluate and provide guidance to all craft workers
• exposed to the project
• Participate in on-going training and career development
• Directly manage job costs on all projects to ensure consistent profitability and make
• changes when needed
• Maintain safe work environment by establishing and enforcing MIELKE safety policies and procedures; ensure compliance with federal, state and local jurisdictions
