Job summary

Kiewit Corporation is seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator to support road maintenance and construction projects. You will operate a variety of vehicles and equipment to perform maintenance and repair work on roads and rights-of-way.

This role requires the ability to load and grade materials, trench and install culverts, and inspect equipment, with a focus on safety and efficiency in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and relevant field experience.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions with effective communication up to management.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and heavy equipment to perform maintenance and repairs on roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Construct trenches for culverts, water and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication on equipment.
• Instruct and train employees in safe operation of equipment and job techniques.
• Inspect equipment, structures or materials to identify causes of defects.
