Qualifications

• Eight to ten years’ experience in electric utility distribution operations.
• Must possess knowledge of RUS line specifications, National Electric Code, and OSHA rules.
• Prior experience in basic technical utility knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of power lines.
• Safely construct, replace, repair, and maintain electrical distribution lines.
• Investigate trouble on lines and locate causes of power outages.

Skills

Valid Texas CDL (class A) license

Communication in English

Climbing poles

Operation of equipment

Lifting 50 pounds or more

Effective use of two-way radios

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of DOL program requirements for Journeyman Lineman

Completion of advanced lineman training/lineman certification

CPR and First Aid certification
