Xcel Energy is hiring Journeyman Lineman for the La Crosse Service Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin. You will install, maintain and remove distribution conductors and equipment, climb poles, and work with energized lines in various weather conditions.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; a Technical School Lineman degree is preferred. CDL Class A and willingness to travel are also expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical School Lineman degree preferred.
• Must presently be qualified as Journeyman Lineman with knowledge of distribution and transmission construction, maintenance and operating.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and remove overhead and underground distribution conductors and equipment.
• Work on energized conductors and equipment; perform hot stick work as required.
• Commitment to safety and ability to travel or work away from home as needed.

The starting base Journeyman pay for this position is $62.27 hourly. This position will be posted for 15 Working days from September 28, 2026, to October 16, 2026.SummaryPrimary responsibilities consist of but are not limited to installation, maintenance and removal of overhead and underground distribution conductors and equipment. Must be able to climb poles, work on energized conductors and equipment, perform hot stick work on energized high voltage conductors, work in inclement weather, be available for callout work, and all other work as outlined in the lineman position.
