Job summary

Austin Industries is seeking a Painter to prep surfaces and apply paint to equipment, parts, machinery, and buildings across our sites. You will read work orders, prepare surfaces, and work at heights to achieve durable finishes in industrial environments.

The role requires 4 years of Journeyman experience, NCCER certification, and a valid driver's license. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Education – no minimum education requirements.
• Experience – 4 years of Journeyman level experience.
• Certification/License: NCCER and a Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Reads work orders and receives instructions verbally.
• Prepare the surface using methods appropriate to remove dirt, oil, and grease, removing old paint, smoothing cracks, coating, and filling holes.
• Work at heights with no fear.
• May fill cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce the desired color, according to specifications using a paddle or mechanical mixer.
• May erect scaffolding or set up a ladder to perform tasks above ground level.
• Apply paint to the surface using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
• Other duties as assigned.
