Job summary

AdventHealth in Texas is seeking a full-time HVAC Mechanic to install, maintain and repair hospital HVAC and refrigeration systems. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills and experience with air handlers, chillers and DDC controls.

Shift is Night, Monday–Friday, with a focus on safe, compliant operation in a healthcare setting. The position requires EPA 608 certification and a solid mechanical/electrical background.

Qualifications

• HVAC master knowledge required.
• Ability to use HVAC testing equipment.
• Ability to recover Freon of all types (R-11, R-12, R-22, etc.).
• Healthcare HVAC knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Replace motors and compressors on A/C and refrigerant systems.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic and DDC control systems.
• Read schematics and use test equipment to diagnose issues.
• Repair air handlers including bearings, shafts, and blower wheels.
• Repair coils including chilled water coils.
• Repair exhaust fan motors, bearings, shafts, and blower wheels.
• Repair fan coil motors, water valves, and thermostats.
• Maintain operation of chillers.
• Use recovery units and comply with EPA regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

No Call Requirements

• Conducts major repairs on fan coil motors, water valves, and thermostats.
• Maintains proper operation of chillers.
• Uses recovery units and follows EPA regulations.
• Properly uses all HVAC test equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• General HVAC Master knowledge. [Required]
• Ability to use all HVAC/refrigeration testing equipment. [Required]
• Ability to recover Freon of all types (R-11, R-12, R-22, etc.). [Required]
• HVAC Master knowledge in a healthcare environment [Preferred]

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]

Work Experience

• 2+ of building control systems experience. [Required]
• 5+ of experience in refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning. [Required]
• General HVAC Journeyman Maintenance experience [Required]
• Mechanical and electrical background. [Required]

Licenses And Certifications

• EPA Section 608 Technician Certification (EPA 608) [Required]
