Job summary

Providence Swedish is seeking a Journeyman Engineer to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of complex building systems within the Seattle facility. You will work hands-on with automated building controls, performing a broad range of trade tasks in a hospital environment.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with building control systems inspection, testing, repair, and maintenance, and will hold related training or demonstrated experience.

Qualifications

• 4 years of building control systems inspection, testing, repair and maintenance in a hospital environment.
• Must have completed extensive specialized training courses --or-- Demonstrated ability and experience may be accepted in lieu of education.
• Associate's Degree in Electronics, Mechanical Systems, Building Control Technology, HVAC, or similar field

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of automated building control systems and related inspection tasks.
• Perform electrical, electronics, sheet metal, welding, mechanics, machine shop work.
• Carry out hydraulics, plumbing, painting, ventilation, carpentry, plastering, concrete and masonry work.
• Ceiling and floor installation and related tasks.
• Support facility operations across multiple trades as needed.

This position requires a highly skilled and versatile professional with deep expertise in automated building controls and the ability to perform a broad range of technical, mechanical, and trade‑related tasks. A Journeyman Engineer must possess a high degree of knowledge of automated building control systems and may also perform a wide variety of work requiring high skill levels and abilities, including but not limited to:
