Job summary

Providence Swedish First Hill is seeking a Journeyman Engineer to ensure reliability, safety, and performance of complex building systems in a hospital environment. The role requires deep expertise in automated building controls and hands-on capability across electrical, mechanical, and trade tasks.

The role involves inspecting, testing, repairing, and maintaining control systems, and performing a broad range of skilled trades such as electrical, hydraulics, plumbing, carpentry, and welding

Qualifications

  • Extensive training courses or demonstrated ability/experience may substitute formal education.
  • 4 years of building control systems inspection, testing, repair and maintenance in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of automated building control systems and related high-skill trades.
  • Perform a wide variety of skilled work across electrical, mechanical, and construction domains.
  • Work may include electricity, hydraulics, plumbing, carpentry, and related trades.

Required Qualifications

  • Coursework/Training: Must have successfully completed extensive specialized training courses --or--
  • Demonstrated ability and experience may be accepted in lieu of education
  • 4 years of building control systems inspection, testing, repair and maintenance in a hospital environment

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
