Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Traveling Electrician – (Controls, Licensed) with JM license to lead UPS system and generator installations across the Midwest while based out of Lowell, AR. This sustained deployment role requires travel for weeks to months with no fixed schedule.

Responsibilities

• Install, remove, and replace UPS systems and generators at large distribution centers and commercial facilities.
• Run and bend conduit from 3/4" to 4" EMT and rigid; pull wire through 2-4 inch pull fields.
• Terminate conductors and complete commercial/industrial wiring from 24V DC to 480V AC.
• Read blueprints, one-lines, and schematics to coordinate work within multi-tech teams of 2-4 electricians and apprentices.
• Adapt to day or night shift schedules as dictated by project requirements and site access.

Job description

We are hiring a Traveling Electrician - (Controls, Licensed) for heavy commercial and industrial UPS and generator replacement projects across the Midwest, operating out of Lowell, AR. This is a sustained deployment role requiring travel for weeks to months at a time with no fixed rotation schedule. The ideal Traveling Electrician - (Controls, Licensed) is JM licensed, experienced with UPS systems, conduit, and termination work, and ready to operate a company fleet vehicle on any shift.

What We Offer

• $32-$48 per hour based on experience and licensure; targeting 60 hours per week on active projects
• Hotel accommodations covered for the duration of each deployment
• $45 per day per diem for meals and incidentals while deployed

Key Responsibilities - Travel Journeyman Electrician

• Install, remove, and replace UPS systems and generators at large distribution centers and commercial facilities

• Read blueprints, one-lines, and schematics to coordinate work within multi-tech teams of 2-4 electricians and apprentices
• Adapt to day or night shift schedules as dictated by project requirements and site access

Qualifications - Traveling Journeyman Electrician

• Current Journeyman Electrician license required; proof of licensure must be provided upon offer
• Valid driver's license with a clean MVR; must be 21 or older to operate a company fleet vehicle
• Demonstrated experience with UPS systems and commercial or industrial generator installations
• Proficiency in EMT and rigid conduit work, wire pulling, and termination across commercial and industrial applications
• Must be willing and able to deploy for weeks to months at a time with no fixed return schedule and no regular obligations requiring time at home

Preferred Qualifications - Traveling Commercial Electrician

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
• NFPA 70E electrical safety training (not required but strongly preferred)
• Experience operating scissor lifts, boom lifts, or bucket lifts
• Knowledge of industrial controls, PLCs, or automation systems
• Rigid conduit bending and installation experience beyond standard EMT

Physical Requirements - Traveling Journeyman Electrician

• Sustained travel deployment required; candidates must self-transport to Lowell, AR at their own expense to begin assignment and receive company vehicle
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for up to 12 hours per shift, including overnight shifts
• Lift and carry tools, wire, and conduit materials up to 50 lbs routinely
• Work in active commercial and industrial environments including large distribution facilities and retail-level sites
• Operate aerial lift equipment and work at heights as required by project scope
