Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a 06 Journeyman Electrician to independently install, service, and maintain fire alarm systems, CCTV, and access control systems. You will read blueprints, perform testing, and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards. Travel to job sites is required, with opportunities to mentor entry-level technicians.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 3+ years in fire and life safety, and a valid driver’s license. NICET Level I+ is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry.
• Licensed journeyman electrician with low-voltage, power-limited systems in telecommunications, data, security and fire alarms.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently install, service, and maintain fire alarm systems, CCTV systems, access control systems, and other low voltage specialty systems.
• Complete standard installation projects without direct supervision.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Perform system testing and basic troubleshooting.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete installations.
• Coordinate with team members, contractors, and project stakeholders as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
