Job summary

Leisure World of Maryland is seeking a Journeyman Electrician for a full-time, 40-hour work week in Silver Spring, MD. Starting pay ranges from $32.00 to $34.00 per hour depending on experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD, and 401(k).

The Electrician will repair, install and maintain electrical wiring and systems across the Leisure World of Maryland community, following codes and blueprints. A Maryland Journeyman license and apprenticeship credentials are required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of a formal apprenticeship program with on-the-job training.
• Minimum of 576 classroom hours.
• Minimum of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and/or work experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, install, modify and maintain electrical wiring and systems.
• Review blueprints, schematics and drawings to assess material needs.
• Diagnose and resolve problems using testing instruments.
• Install and repair control and distribution apparatus including motors, relays and panels.
• Test circuits for continuity and safety; ensure compliance with codes.
• Document time spent on jobs and prepare invoices per job.
