JUMPSTART, ADVANCE, AND LOVE YOUR CAREER WITH SMSI! We are looking for a safety-first, analytical, and experienced electrician to join our team. You'll be assigned a variety of work orders, including fixing, replacing, installing, maintaining, and testing electrical wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, and lighting fixtures in buildings. The ideal candidate is familiar with reading technical schematics and blueprints, has extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring, and has completed all training, apprenticeship, and licensing requirements. Responsibilities: • Inspect and troubleshoot electrical systems, components, and related equipment according to safety codes. • Analyze and repair motor and control systems commonly utilized in industrial and commercial settings. • Assemble raceway and cable tray systems. • Execute preventive maintenance activities on electrical wiring and systems. • Comprehend electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals. • Exercise problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to solve problems. • Install, program, and mount VFDs, soft starts, transformers, and motors, and panelboards. • Stretch and run wire, conduit, and other materials of varying sizes. • Connect the motors and transformers. • Utilize threaders, big pipe benders, and tuggers as necessary. • Manage small projects/service calls for industrial and commercial customers. Qualifications: • Proven experience in electrical service or a related field. • Qualifications may differ based on the technician's experience and capabilities. • The technician's proficiency is expected to grow with their accumulated experience. • Comfortable reading and comprehending electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams. • Proficiency in using manual and electric tools commonly used in electrical tasks. • Able to handle the physical workload. • Proficiency in electrical theory, along with the related principles, materials, and equipment. • Must be available to travel 50% of the time. Most of the job will be local. • Must have an active Journeyman license. Compensation: $34 - $40 hourly
