Beyer Plumbing Co. seeks a Journeyman Electrician to diagnose, repair, install, and maintain electrical systems for residential and commercial properties. You will troubleshoot, interpret plans, and ensure code-compliant solutions while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.
  • Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License preferred.
  • 5+ years of electrical experience preferred.
  • Residential service and troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical theory, wiring practices, NEC requirements, and applicable local codes.
  • Ability to safely operate electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain residential and commercial electrical systems.
  • Install and service circuits, panels, breakers, receptacles, switches, lighting, conduit, wiring, and other electrical equipment.
  • Perform service upgrades, panel replacements, remodel wiring, additions, EV charger installations, generators, and other electrical projects.
  • Perform electrical testing and accurately diagnose electrical failures.
  • Recommend safe, code-compliant repair and replacement options.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Complete assigned work safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, inspectors, coworkers, and office staff.
  • Clearly explain electrical problems, recommended solutions, and completed work to customers.
  • Maintain clean and organized jobsites, tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
  • Complete required job documentation, photographs, labor and material records, and ServiceTitan documentation.
  • Assist with the training and development of apprentices and helpers.
  • Attend required safety meetings, training, and continuing education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Journeyman Electrician
Position Summary

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining residential and commercial electrical systems. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, knowledge of electrical systems and codes, and the ability to work independently while providing excellent customer service.

The Journeyman Electrician is expected to perform safe, quality work and provide guidance and training to apprentices and helpers.

Safety & Code Compliance
  • Follow OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and jobsite safety procedures.
  • Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures when required.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions or safety concerns.
  • Perform electrical work in accordance with the NEC, applicable local codes, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in attics, crawl spaces, and confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawl for extended periods.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
Work Expectations

The Journeyman Electrician is expected to maintain dependable attendance, arrive prepared to begin work at the scheduled time, and participate in rotating on-call assignments when required.

This position may require evenings, weekends, holidays, or emergency service calls. Journeyman Electricians are expected to demonstrate professionalism, quality workmanship, safety awareness, teamwork, and a commitment to excellent customer service while helping develop less-experienced members of the electrical team.
