Job summary

Encore Electric, Inc. in Cheyenne, WY is seeking a Journeyman Wireman to lead apprentices and other journeymen on commercial electrical construction and service work.

You will direct tasks, uphold safety, maintain high workmanship, and ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code while working in varying weather conditions on site. A Wyoming Journeyman license and substantial apprenticeship training are required, with opportunities for training and advancement within Encore University.

• Four years of electrical apprenticeship training or three years with two-year degree from technical college.

Responsibilities

• Directs Apprentices and Journeymen on site in commercial electrical construction and service work.
• Maintains safety, professional conduct, and ethics on all assignments.
• Installs quality workmanship and ensures code compliance (National Electrical Code).
• Keeps tools clean, wears appropriate PPE, and works in all weather conditions.

OVERVIEW

The Journeyman directs the tasks of Apprentices and potentially other Journeymen electricians and participates in commercial electrical construction and service work.

General Responsibilities

• Work in all weather conditions

Physical Requirements

A functional physical is required to be completed and passed before work can be performed in all field positions. The physical requirements can often be completed repetitively and for extended periods of time. These requirements include:

• Driving

• Lifting, floor to waist (up to 50lbs)
• Lifting, waist to overhead (up to 30lbs each arm)

• Trimming (final installation of electrical devices)

Requirements

• Degree in related field is required such as four years of apprenticeship training or three years of apprenticeship training with two year degree from technical college.
• A Journeyman Wireman’s license from the State of Wyoming or reciprocating State is required. High level of energy and sense of urgency are preferred.
