Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated in Freeport, TX is seeking skilled electrical trades professionals to perform maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting on advanced machinery. You will follow SOPs, read blueprints, and ensure safety compliance while supporting plant operations.

The role requires a Journeyman license, 5–7 years experience, NEC knowledge, and the ability to work with high voltage equipment.

Qualifications

• Journeyman's license and 5-7 years related experience and/or training.
• Know NEC and building codes.
• Experience with voltage of 480V or higher.
• Valid driver’s license
• NCCER Certification
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
• Knowledge of basic software systems

Responsibilities

• Follows all department and plant SOPs and procedures.
• Controls and evaluates electrical maintenance program.
• Identifies electrical problems, finds solutions in a timely manner.
• Oversee all estimates of electrical repair costs.
• Work on blueprints, wiring diagrams, shop handbooks, layouts and other specifications to determine materials and procedures.
• Repairs and installs electrical equipment and components.
• Installs electrical work according to state, federal and company requirements/laws.
• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures for building electrical maintenance schedules.
• Plans layouts of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
• Conducts building safety inspections ensuring compliance with safety codes.
• Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
• Plans and performs work requiring knowledge of electrical principles.
• Interacts with internal and outside contacts to provide guidance on building safety

Detailed Description:

Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

Journeyman's license and 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of license and experience. Know NEC and building codes. Experience with voltage of 480V or higher.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and electrical instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively and communicate with others.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to identify and explain the use of special measuring devices; ability to use formulas to solve basic problems.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

Must have experience and basic knowledge of computers and be able to learn programs necessary to carry out job functions.
