Job summary

Core Scientific, Inc. seeks an experienced Journeyman – Electrical to join our facilities team. The role is on-site in our data centers, performing preventative maintenance, wiring, and diagnostics to ensure continuous operation.

The candidate should have 7+ years in the electrical trade, a valid license, and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating with the facilities team. Some nights and weekends may be required, with on-site responsibilities and safety oversight.

Qualifications

  • Formal vocational school training in the fundamentals of the electrical trade.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in the electrical trade.
  • Unlimited electrical or contractor's license (required).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Prior military or technical school training (preferred).
  • Willingness and ability to follow directions from other staff and management.
  • Basic understanding of email and MS Office software.
  • Positive and professional attitude; high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and small hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform lighting preventative maintenance.
  • Perform battery preventative maintenance and inverter testing on battery backups for lights.
  • Execute assigned duties related to rack moves, deployments, and decommissioning.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and related security gate repair.
  • Manage team scheduling and material requisition.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to NEC and local codes.
  • Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and necessary repairs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform corrective maintenance.
  • Plan and lay out electrical wiring, conduit, and fixtures based on blueprints, schematics, and job specifications.
  • Test electrical systems and verify continuity of circuits using testing devices (ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, etc.).
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components.
  • Maintain spill prevention kits for generators, substations, etc.
  • Respond to unscheduled, high-priority work, typically related to DC floor cooling.
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication within the team and across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Journeyman – Electrical

We are seeking an experienced outside lineman, inside wireman, installer technician, electrician, or Master Electrician who has been engaged in the trade for at least seven (7) years.

Responsibilities

Assistant Critical Facilities Manager

Location & Travel

On-site; minimal travel between data centers may be required as needed.

Work Environment

This role operates in a data center, office, and shop environment, routinely using standard maintenance equipment, including ladders, scissor lifts, forklifts, power tools, and voltmeters. Exposed to hot and cold environments.

Physical Demands

Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, using hands, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Position Type / Hours

Full-time, on-site position supporting a 24‑7/365 product. Some nights and weekends may be required.

Supervisory Experience

No supervisory responsibilities.
