Job summary

Skillit in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Journeyman Electrician to work on commercial, healthcare, education, and life-science projects. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems to code, read blueprints, troubleshoot issues, and help deliver quality projects on schedule.

This hands-on role requires strong communication with superintendents, project managers, engineers and other trades, plus ability to travel between Charlotte-area sites and adhere to lockout/tagout and PPE

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of construction industry experience as an electrician on commercial projects.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and specifications.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical systems, overcurrent devices, standby/emergency systems and general service.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems to code on healthcare, education, and life-science projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, riser diagrams and wiring plans to lay out and complete installations.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues using meters and testing equipment; perform system startup and commissioning tasks.
• Use modern tools and equipment safely; follow lockout/tagout, PPE and site safety procedures.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, superintendents and other trades to meet schedules and quality standards.

About this roleWe're hiring a Journeyman Electrician in Charlotte, NC to work on commercial, healthcare, education, and life-science projects. This is a hands-on role for a safety-minded tradesperson who communicates well with superintendents, project managers, engineers and other trades.
