PremiStar in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to perform electrical work on wiring, controls, and components. You will replace, install, and repair electrical equipment and devices as required.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, diagnosing faulty wiring, testing generators, and ensuring OSHA and NEC compliance. The role involves independent work on HVAC, boiler equipment, and solar projects in diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Relevant hands-on experience preferred.
• Completed a 4-year apprenticeship program.
• Electrician license or certification.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical principles, construction, wiring schematics.
• Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other safety standards.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment

This job operates primarily alone on HVAC and boiler equipment in all environments, which includes extreme cold or heat depending on the time of year. Vehicles are used as the base of operations. Also work on solar projects.
